FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will my online donation be recorded on my contribution statement?
Yes. We will update your contribution account after each online donation. Your record will reflect your gift as a tithe/offering.

If I do not have a contribution account can my gift still be recorded for tax purposes?
Yes, because PayPal generates an email receipt for each transaction. However, you will be responsible to keep each email receipt from PayPal as proof of your giving. This is not required if you have a contribution account with Bethesda.

How do I create a contribution account?
Download the contribution account form here (PDF) and mail it to the Church Office or visit an Information Center on Sundays.

Are there any other options for electronic giving?
Bethesda also offers a Direct Debit, which automatically transfers your contributions from your bank account into the Church account on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis. To enroll in our Direct Debit program, download the Direct Debit Form here (PDF) and mail it to the Church Office. You will then be contacted by the Treasurer's Office.

Why should I tithe?
By tithing you acknowledge that God is the source of everything you have. God instructs His people to give the first one-tenth back to Him. In return for obeying this He gives prosperity and blessing. For more information on tithing see the tithing brochure in our Information Racks.
"Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive it" (Malachi 3:10).
